Focusing on the Pashtuns here, they form a smooth cline between Indic groups and the Pamiri Tajiks. The location determines their closeness to the respective aforementioned groups. In the left cluster it may be hard to tell apart the names of the samples because the Pashtun and Indian groups are so close to each other. But Uthmankhel, Tarkalani, and Kurram are Pashtun subgroups who represent the eastern Pashtuns(including those from eastern Afghanistan and NW Pakistan).

Tajik Afghan samples from various areas are not readily available but they are not a genetic unit or distinct population and if they were to be represented here would fall into a wide area between Uzbeks, Pashtuns, Pamiris, and Iranians.

Moving to West Asia now(Iranians, Kurds, Assyrians, Turks) we can see that that their cluster is distinct from that of SC and S Asia.
