On 23andme my father has a match with our same surname and some of the “right” mutual matches with people up my deep paternal side- he was assigned y haplogroup R-L365. My dad is on the V4 chip, so is specified only to the point of R-M417.
Sup with this subclade? I can’t find much about it.

Appears to be mostly found in eastern Pomerania. Would make sense given my g g grandfather allegedly having come from Meck-Pomm/NE Germany..although that’s a good deal west of the more eastern nature of this haplogroup. Maybe my people only lived in NE Germany for a short time.

Is it the case that 23andme does not “update” previous chip-user haplogroups? Even if relatives who have tested recently get more specific clades?
