He's apparently half Northern Italian (Piedmontese) and half Southern Italian (Campanian), so...

Isn't him actually half Central Italian from Lazio and half Southern Italian from Campania?

Maybe? I honestly don't know. I was just going by what his Wikipedia article says:

His mother, Maria (Mesce), worked part-time as a barber, and his father, Angelo Pesci, was a forklift driver for General Motors and a bartender. He is of Italian descent, with origins in Turin[1][2][3] and Aquilonia in the province of Avellino.[4]

His father was born in Piedmont but had origins from Viterbo, Lazio.

Thanks! I did not know.

In that case, does he pass better as a Central Italian or Southern Italian?

To me Gianluca Grignani got a pan Italian look:

I feel like he could easily pass as Argentinian as well (unsurprising, given how many Argentinians are of at least partial Italian ancestry).

Yeah, definitely.
