At first I thought it was due to the strongly foreign mixtures in the European context (Taforalt/iberomaurusian and SSA) but it is an exaggeration to only attribute it to these components when they rarely exceed 6% both among the Iberian population.
My main suspicion now is that the Iberians retain more ancestry from the Neolithic period than the rest and that only a contribution from the recent steppe made them closer to the Europeans, discuss.
