I have read conflicting things about Alpine and Dinaric skulls. Some say that Alpines are planoccipital, yet others (including most of Coon’s Alpine examples) are curvoccipital. I’ve also read that Alpines are meant to have snub noses and the lot yet most Alpine plates from the old anthropologists have aquilline (yet upturned at the nostrils) noses. These noses are often quite prominent as well. Lastly, is it only a Dinarid trait rather than Alpinid for the forehead to slightly slope? I can’t figure out whether I’m an Alpinized Noric or simply an Alpine with possible Noric influence due to these factors.
