A lot came in the 70's as refugees from Pinochet's regime (including these), but most have gone back now.

Interesting, out of all the latin American communities in London i think Chileans are among the rarest, i knew one Chilean boy at school who was an immigrant but the rest mainly from the northern South American countries mainly.

Are there also argentinian descendants who went there under Junta Governments?

How many South American children were there at your school then? Well since the 80's Colombians and to a lesser extent Ecuadoreans and Brazilians have been settling in fairly substantial numbers in London.

At primary school a lot, maybe 30-40 in a school of 250 mainly Columbian, Ecuador, some i think from Peru and Bolivia. A lot in secondary too but no more than 10%.

Of course, the Latin American community in London is much smaller i think than the number in the schools i went to, especially in north London where i am from.
