Avicenna, can you if possible list the Pashtuns in the Pakistani team from the non-Pashtuns. The non-Pashtuns can be described as the Pakistanis "proper" whereas historically Pashtuns are Afghans. Only thing is some of the Pakistanis might be mixed with Pashtuns unknowingly to us, or mixed with Kashmiris (who can look different to common Pakistanis as well in some cases) or descended of foreign origin people who could perhaps be inbred. I mean descended from foreign settlers (Iranians Afghans etc) to "India" in the past, not recent foreign origin people, but we can ignore these other possibilities.

There are many non-migrant origin Pakistanis who look perfectly Indian as compared to looking Afghans/Pashtun or Iranian and so on. I have come across them often personally in UK, N America and Middle East as well as on TV. Also there are lots of migrants from India to Pakistan who do not look blatantly migrant from India as you put it. Some migrants from India are Nawaz Sharif and his family, mother of Imran Khan (current PM of Pakistan) and many others like them, but also there are many non famous people who "look less Indian" (trying to use your thoughts on that) than many native Pakistanis.

I do not believe the PJL samples have been proven or stated to be migrants from India. I mean migrants in 1947. We also have many migrants to India incl Punjab who migrated from Pakistan Punjab, but if you saw them you will not think they are migrants from Pakistan because you have gotten in your head that Pakistanis are automatically more west shifted than Indians and normally do not look so Indian. I mean like that famous cricket bowler. I even meet regularly another guy from the same group as the bowler and from the same area. When I first met him I was unsure by looking at him if he was from Gujrat (India) or South Indian, but as soon as he started to talk to me I knew he was Pakistani and that was due to his language Potohari as its called mixed with Urdu but I can understand it fairly well. Porohari is not too different to Punjabi as is made out, major difference is in pronunciation and accent, the words are not greatly different.

Number 10 looks very odd. Even you have to admit he doesn't look Indus Pak at all . He could be from anywhere in the sun continent .

There are many non-migrant origin Pakistanis who look perfectly Indian as compared to looking Afghans/Pashtun or Iranian and so on. I have come across them often personally in UK, N America and Middle East as well as on TV.

I don't entirely agree since there are many Pakistanis here in England . Im sure the English users can back me when I say that alot of Pakistanis in the UK can look somewhat like these fellas . My observations

Afghans

Clearly and to no surprise they are significantly lighter than the other groups , I would say they look more western Asian than south Asian although 2 indivudials look like they would fit in South Asia perfectly . Light / light mixed eyes is present in quarter of the team whilst medium brown eyes is the most common color . Mainly Iranids with alpine , pamirid , nordid , pontid , Indid and med influences .

If we exclude the ethnic pashtuns , you could generally say that the indic Pakistanis produce types virtually similar to Indians across the border , although there are types that seem to have a layer of west Asian like ancestry , this could be to recent admxiture via islamic rules / merchants /traders. Dark brown eyes seem to be the most common eye colour , although among the pashtuns it blends into medium brown . No light / light mixed eyes. Team is full of Nord Indids, gracile Indid , Indo brachid , iranid , pamirid influences .

Seem to be Alot more homogenous than the afghans / Paks despite compassing a large mass of Asia . Uniformly brown / dark brown skin seems to be the norm with dark brown eyes / black hair . Seem to be a blend between indoc paks And sri Lankans . They seem to be lighter and more western shifted than Bangladeshis and Sri Lankans . Some players with lighter skin could possibly pass further west .

Yeah the cricket teams are dominated by pashtun speaking afghans. I don't think there are any tajiks , maybe a few here or there but over 90% are pashtuns. Regarding Pakistan I ain't too sure at all man , cant speak for them.

In terms of representatives for their country , afghanistan is multi ethnic country, not like Albania where there is one single ethnic group regardless of region or faith . Pashtuns and tajiks as well as nursitanis / pashayis overlap Alot with each other . Uzbeks / hazaras and lesser so turkmens make up a large minority . They are the ones who Alot of people in Europe seem to interact with nowadays . Just recently a person was shocked when I told them I was afghan due to them thinking afghans looked east Asian . I don't want to sound racist or nationalistic but the vast majority of caucasoid afghans refer to themselves as the " real " afghans .

I agree that a good amount can pass in Balkans however what separates us from you guys is the fact that we have dark types that are way too exotic for Europe. This in itself is a signal that we are clearly not European looking .

What I mean is , that in a group of 6 afghans , you can have 4 or even 5 of them who are not too far off dark balkanites but all it takes is one person who looks south Asian that will make that group unpassable in europe.
