Tooting Carmen

Sounds as if it is from a gay novel or a gay movie, a gay character "Tooting" "Carmen". Am I right? I just ask because Im not really sure, what Tooting Carmen is, but it does sound gay. Like really queer and flamboyant.

Unsurprisingly for him it's a TV reference - a Two Ronnies sketch about a Cockney version of Carmen (Tooting is a London suburb), and a play on the name Tutankhamun.
