For the sake of comparing two people of mostly German descent (you and my mother), her is how my mother scores on AncestryDNA:

My mother's paper trail (82% Western and Southern German, 12% English, 6% Prussian):


Germanic Europe 41%
-Central/SW Germany
-Frankfurt-Rhine-Main

England & NW Europe 38%
-Devon & Cornwall, England
-West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly

Sweden & Denmark 17%

Eastern Europe & Russia 4%

Ancestry's Germanic Europe is very broad, and a good chunk of the Czech Republic, and also Northwestern Hungary tend to score a healthy amount of it. The category seems to be a little too southern-shifted for you to score a lot of it (although 47% ain't too shabby), and it's a little to eastern-shifted for my German mother, overall.

I am a little surprised that you do not get any Eastern Europe and Russia.
