Well, to be bluntly honest, it was my classification skills that showed me he was Spanish. Then, my Google and Wikipedia skills showed me famous Spanish people in history. :thumb001:

Actually Sir Guy Carleton was more instrumental in Canada than in the USA. He was the Governor of Quebec and concurrent Governor of British North America during the 1760's and 1770's. I live in the county of Carleton as a matter of fact (named after the good man) and our city has a high school named Sir Guy Carleton. :) In fact among some French Canadians, Sir Guy Carleton is quite well-regarded since he is the one that advocated for the French to keep some of their language and religious rights in Quebec. Just a bit of Canadiana for you all. :)

Another hint: Although he fought in the American War of Independence, he received the medal shown in the picture fighting in another revolution.

And he did help protect Philadelphia during the American Revolution.

I just looked this guy up because I had never heard of him. That guy was awesome. A 6 foot 6 Portuguese guy who was strong as an ox and apparently just manhandled the British opposition during the war. It appears he was kidnapped from the Azores and was meant to be an indentured servant in the South.

Yes, that's him. He came to America to fight in the Revolution and later returned to his homeland, Poland, to fight the Russians. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ko%C5%9Bciuszko_Uprising

It was taken in the 60s in America so I going to guess he must be an astronaut. Astronauts were heros in the 60s. I use to be able to name them & which missions they had flown on. This was when I was 7 or 8. But I can't recognize that one.

That picture must have been taken for their Arise album, so about 90/91. My favourite album as well. :thumb001: They were an amazing band. Both live and studio.
