This seems to look increasingly possible, as the US discusses in NATO what their response should be if "Vladimir Putin uses chemical or biological weapons".
This is very unlikely to come from the Russians, especially since they have highlighted the US biolabs in Ukraine. So, they are using this news and twisting it around ... pretending that the chemical threat comes from Russia. And, given their recent history in manufacturing false flag chemical attacks in Syria -- whilst blaming it on Assad -- to justify military action that the public opinion not under regular circumstances would allow.
It would provoke a strong escalatory response (supposedly to be seen as a "deterrent". But we should under no circumstances feel certain that the Russians would see it that way).
It would not take much imagination to think that NATO would do such a thing, in order to cause division among Russians at home, and more hatred and opposition towards Russia globally. It would be strategically a propaganda win for NATO and Ukraine. Cause more sympathy for Ukrainians. Ukrainians themselves might decide to do it or devise it together with NATO (could even be fake).
We know that the media would choose to broadcast the pro-Ukrainian and pro-NATO narrative, regardless of whether it is true or not.
If they then follow their promises and act militarily, this would be the beginning of the active/hot/direct phase of world war 3.
