Dunno maybe cuz the answer is obvious? Poles are Eastern Europeans, how could they have more NW Euro genes when they are not really Northern and for sure not Western, so France is obvious answer

Poles are North Eastern, genetically speaking.

Poles are Central-Eastern genetically speaking, they plot with Western Ukrainians, Slovaks, Czechs and Northern Hungarians.

Yes, you're right. We see it on the PCA, the Poles are in a more central position, with certain micro-clusters I suppose.

On a PCA, not everything is as binary as North versus South, it doesn't work that way. It's not as binary, you have multiple different positions, which some sometimes have a hard time understanding and visualize, since they work in "north and south" binary.

Poles do have a detectable NW component though but it rather did not make it here directly from there. More like some old Bell Beaker progeny survived over here.
