Ancestry DNA results of my mother. :)

Today, after just one and a half month, i got the Ancestry DNA results of my mother.

Well, i expected a lot to happen in her results, but THIS?
I would never see that coming, that she is... (see picture)

93% EASTERN EUROPEAN!! And actually, she is half northern Hungarian and half Central Hungarian, so the genetic communities are scarily accurate!!!

While in my family, my dad, sister and grandmother are showing a "typical Hungarian profile", i and mother show a more NE profile, showing impressively close relationship with Rusyns.

can you show the oracle too? Yea you guys have low NW European dna and relatively high NE European dna. The combination of high slavic and some what balkanic ancestry makes you similar to rusyns. Very interesting. How do most hungarians feel about slavic ancestry btw? I mean I think they are pretty aware of it, but is it seen as something positive?

The question you asked is, how shall I say, a bit complicated to answer.
Hungarians are not a Slavic people by default, yet quite logically today we show the closest kinship with our Slavic neighbours. We do have a specific culture that preserves ancient Asian elements, even in our gastronomy, but there are also similarities between Hungarian and nearby Slavic cultures. Like it or not, we Hungarians have taken things from the Slavs, but the Slavs have also taken many things from the Hungarians.
I could describe Hungarians as being genetically like Bulgarians, with the difference that the language has been preserved.
It's a very complicated situation...
