My daughter also has Wicklow, Carlow and Wexford. You must be all Leinster. Eastern part of Ireland gets less Ireland which is not surprising.

Yea I’m all Leinster, although my mam gets the north Tipperary community which technically counts as Munster but her granny was from clonmel which is literally a few kilometres from the border with Leinster

I find the other 15% quite tedious as I’ve no paper trail at all to those countries and it is either a mishap on ancestry DNA’s part or very ancient residual dna
Example: the 2% England is probably Norman dna from 900 years ago still lingering on

Also I find the “ your connection is very likely “ part very funny cause I’m literally from here

I’ll be sure to add my numbers, I’ll have to run them again, I find G25 to be very accurate so it’s been a while since I used any other eurogenes application

Interesting results, I seem to be a tiny bit closer to the Irish average than yourself, seeing as you’ve so much northern pull perhaps you’ve some Norse Gael or Viking genetics in the mix

Personally I don’t think the southern pull is from England as there hasn’t been any mixing with them, certainly not in recent times anyway

I think it’s far more ancient than that and is just excess EEF and megalith builder dna, seeing as I’m near entirely Gaelic and my dna on the ancient calculator has such a Bronze Age pull I’d imagine I retained much of the older dna of the country

My friends calculator has me scoring at 97% Atlantic Bronze Age higher than any Irish average

Yes of course it could be that but the Irish Bronze Age was more northern than present day Irish so I'm thinking some later input from the nearest island and also the known history of Leinster. Yes I'm a bit more distant than yourself but my ancestry is from North Tipperary and Sligo/Roscommon and the majority of Irish are in the Leinster area so that might explain the distance. What would be interesting is some more scientific papers that looked at ancient genomes in Ireland.

I’ve found it to be ok, I seem to drift in a slight ANE direction to the Irish average, the one with the pink countries is showing my closest nations
