Are there differences between the middle class and the lower class? and between the upper and middle class?

Do you know of any study or have you seen any results that make you think that there are differences or that there are not?

I think yes.

I have noticed that old nobility of Spain is normally ugly, even deformed. Duquesa de Alba is a good example.

Must be the imbreeding, or a punishment of God. :D

Between the rest, rich or poor, there're good looking or ugly people in the same mesure.

Hummm but when she was young Cayetana was gorgeous… don’t you believe it???

Yes, one on average is more superior then the other.

Don't be mean :p La Duquesa de Alba was not ugly when she was young.

But yes, definitely the nobility is different from the rest of the population since they are really mixed. But I mean the difference between rich people and poor people

Genetically more superior? What gene is that?

Definitely in the US.

My family belongs in the middle class part of the country and I definitely find people in the same class more attractive than others.

In a multi ethinic country like here, yes of course. In homogeneous countries like Japan or most european countries i dont believe this genetic diference to exist, phenotypical diferences exist tho its been observed since long time ago that european nobility/ upper classes have more "feminine" features, lighter hair and skin as those were traits present in non noble woman they had the power to pick.

In many countries yes

- In Latin America, the higher the class, the more Euro admixture people have
- In India, the higher castes (Brahmin) have more Steppe-Aryan admixture ("= lighter skinned"), while the lowest have more Dravidian ("= dark skinned")

These are obvious and generally admitted differences

Now, more controversial ones, that are more speculative than scientifically backed (afaik) :
- In the Levant, I do feel the higher classes (Lebanese-Syria) seem lighter skinned than the poorest ones
- Same with Turkey (Beyaz vs Kara Türkler)

In Italy, the socio-economical gap in terms of development between the North and the South (Mezzogiorno) overlaps with the genetic admixture of Italians, North Italians being relatively less "Mediterranean-Levantine" ("= lighter") than Southern ones

I was always wondering if in the UK, where social class differences are very clear and pronounced, if it was the case or not (Chavs vs Lords) ? I can spot easily on a phenotypical level (lower classes = more round, Alpinized faces, while upper classes = more long-headed types) but I don't know if it is reflected in their genotypes ?

I don't think rich people is more beautiful, you can see many of them are normal or even subnormal. Botín family for example.

Middle class is much bigger and there're more examples of handsome, normal and ugly people.

Thanks for the answers.
I think the question is too open, I mean people from old world countries, and that they are from a homogeneous region or even from the same city

And what about poor/lower class people?

Maybe, but nothing genetic. A more stressed and less healthy life affects your face and body.

Not, In Latam you will find Arabs and Asians, Hindus USA and UK, Europe/USA Jews, Chinese in Singapore (Mandarins). Blacks can do a separate study, hormonal load affects their behavior and it's genetic.

It's actually nothing about physical appearance. It's related to mindset.

My gut feeling is that, although they still look broadly Mediterranean/Southern European, there aren't as many Gracile Meds and Berids in Spain's higher social classes, i.e. you won't find so many Cesc Fabregas and Alvaro Arbeloa types as you would further down the social spectrum.

My family belongs in the middle class part of the country and I definitely find people in the same class more attractive than others.

We tend to cling to people who look similar to us for the most part. And according to scientists we can ... detect by smell whether a possible partner is viable for us (as in for instance being genetically different enough to ensure that he/she's not closely related to us and that's the right one to mate). And I don't mean pheromones here. Also kissing apparently serves a similar purpose, but it's mostly all on unconscious level.

There are many Jews in upper classes and Germanic nobility.

In Brazil its common to see a contrast of Black ancestry between different classes.

The lower class tends to be more Black or "Pardo", while the upper class is mostly white of iberian and Italian ancestry.

Also exists here the stereotype of "preppy girl" used to refer to fair-skinned girls, implying that they appear to be upper-class.

The middle class often has better diets and that shows in appearance when compared to the lower class.
