Alpines, meds, dinarics, some nordics, subnordics. These are quite dark in general, i have seen pictures of western Slovenians, they seem lighter.

Different from both Croats and Austrians

Very central Euro looking but in a Slavic way. I think they overlap best with Hungarians. Maybe with Czechs/Slovaks too but I won't vote for them because I'm not that familiar and I feel Slovenes have more of southern Euro types compared to them. Not much overlap with eastern Euro or Balkan Slavs in my view, but clearly different from neighbouring Germans as well.

V Cejlu. It's not the same spelling, but a similar one would make for a much more different meaning in here. :-) Cejl would be a Brno spelling of the German word ziel. Ziel for the gypsies.

Let's put it this way: they certainly resemble Hungarians more than Serbs, Romanians or Ukrainians.
They look most similar to Western Hungarians.

there is some overlap with Moldovans in Romania as well but didn't vote, it's too local to vote the entire country.

They remind me Poles a lot, especially Poles from southern Poland. Actually I could confuse them for a group of Poles in a video, but once you look closer you realise they're slightly darker. Arleady impossible to achieve with Austrians or Croats (Croats quite often look familiar in a way that Austrians generally don't but there's a significant % that look clearly alien or exotic)

Compare these Slovenes with these Poles of roughly the same age. One or two photos are from Pomerania perhaps, I did not sort it as I have other things to do.

One of Polish medieval Queens (Anna Cylejska/Anne of Cilli) was from Celle, she was a wife of one of the greatest Polish kings Władysław II Jagiełło. :)
