View Full Version : What is the CHG/Iranian HG Phenotype?

I have seen “reconstructions” of CHG and Iranian HG people. But every single time they portray them as Middle Eastern looking which I think is painfully false probably with the association of haplogroup J. I think that all “Middle Eastern” phenotypes came from the Neolithic Levant or the Neolithic Asia Minor. CHG, shares nothing with these populations besides basal, however. Moreover they share MORE relations with WHG being the CWE cluster and ANE with them scoring 35-55% ANE ancestry. Again, nothing to do with Neolithic.

The most CHG peoples out there now are Abkhazians (55%~) and Svans (65%~).

They don’t look anything like what they’ve constructed.

I could pick part which traits now would’ve been influenced by these people in European populations today. Small Neolithic influences here would be due to Anatolian intrusion.
