I agree, I've seen a few Thai movies and been in Thailand several times, she's very atypical there.

She is atypical but that not much. Am from Thailand myself and many ppl here especially those from Bangkok can look as NE Asian as her. And that's because a very significant amount, if not the majority of Bangkok's population is Chinese or has Chinese ancestry.
