Iceland is known to be about 30% Gaelic, but this PCA shows the Faroe Islands to be genetically closer to the British Isles, and G25 samples of early modern Faroese (n=15) are surprisingly close to British/Irish.

It would make sense geographically for them to be the most Insular Celtic influenced of non-British Isles peoples, but I've never seen their genetics discussed.
