Dont know if this was before or if it just started but its really nice that now we get to see the mtDNA heatmap frequency like we did for the Y..

https://phylogeographer.com/scripts/mt_heatmap.php

Map of my mtDNA which is H5a1a,right now seems mostly present in Slavic countries but there is one sample even in Mongolia.

Neat tool!
Mine T1a1b1 (hope I got it correctly from 23andme), seems to have the highest frequency, on the border of present day Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Tadjikistan.:thumb001:

No merit, my mother mtdna is one of the samples.

Very strange map, the north african is from melilla, but for some reason all the other spaniards disapeared

We are close on the map. :) I am assuming a Indo-European origin for both of our halpogroups...dunno if I am correct or not.

Afaik the high density in the new world is founder effect from an Acadian settler Radegonde Lambert (https://dna-explained.com/2016/09/14/haplogroup-x2b4-is-european-not-native-american/) from who I am also descended.

K1a10, I thought it was Neolithic British origin. Maybe I'll have to revise that thought, I could have a Sioux princess in my maternal line.

I wouldn't hold much stock in that Grace the first Icelandic mothers were Irish women after all, the one responsible for must've been the one that got away

I did a full sequence(similar to a big Y) test though, not just the result you get from 23andme for example

My mtDNA is from and is actually native to Kurdistan but it shows a different region :picard2:

My mtDNA is hg. HV1b2. And mtDNA hg. HV is very native to Kurdistan. It was part of the ancient Aryan Mitanni people, but also the Guto-Medes and later the Parthians. It is a very rare mtDNA. MtDNA hg. HV1b2 was found in a ROYAL Egyptian mummy (Nefertiti ?). I think that some mtDNA hg. HV1b2 arrived in the Eastern Europe with the Babylonian Jews who were captive in Babylon but who later were liberated by the Parthians.

Both, my Y-DNA and mtDNA are very unique, lol.

I've had the full mitochondrial sequencing done at FTDNA and have uploaded to yfull and it is pretty widespread. There is even someone from Mongolia on here. There is only one Irish flag on this and it is myself.

https://www.yfull.com/mtree/J1c3f/

This is only a portion of that tree but shows my results. The ones in peach are ancient and the green current people.

I didn’t know about this site. Interesting, thanks. There are English as well as Dutch and Danish flags for mine, H27. My female line goes back to East Anglia, so that would make sense with the past immigration/invasions into this area from these populations.

I’ve also had my MTDNA fully sequenced with FTDNA, and that shows H27 with minor differences spreading from across Northern Europe and Scandinavia, including a lot of results in Finland.

This all matches my heat map pretty well, especially with the intensity increased a bit.

Post ur mtDNA heatmap results here if you want.

Nice link, thanks 😊

My dad's MTDNA is V4, and too rare. Even at maximum intensity it shows nothing on the map.

I still have to do a big mtDNA test to determine to what type of HV1b2 I belong. 23andMe doesn't give me a complete picture.

I know that some ethnic Jews are interested in my mtDNA haplogroup and when I know more about it I will let you guys know.

But at this moment I am more interested in my Y-DNA R1a*, so I will do a big Y-DNA test first. Don't know when. At this moment I have other more important things to do.

Which R1a are you?

Guti

Which R1a are you?My paternal lineage is hg. R1a* (L62+, L63+, SRY10831.2-, M17-). it is part of R1a* (R-M420) for sure. But it does't belong to R1a1a (R-M17) or even R1a1 (R-SRY1532.2)

So, my Y-DNA is very, very different from hg. R1a1a-Z282 and hg. R1a1a-Z93/Z94.

But this paragroup is known now as R1a2 (R-YP4141). It then has three branches R1a2a (R-YP5018) and R1a2b (R-YP4132) and R1a2c (R-B111)

I want to know now whether I am in R1a2a, R1a2b or R1a2c branch or maybe something else, lol.

Btw, they found a sample of an ancient Cimmerian with Y-DNA hg. R1a2c-B111. It might be possible that there are some links between my paternal haplogroup and the haplogroup of the ancient Cimmerians, but i don't know. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cimmerians

3rd most intense hotspot in Acadia, I guess that's where mine comes from? No hotspot in Acadiana though:

Kept trying to upload the actual photograph, but the post kept running into difficulties for some reason..but hotspots were basically part of the Levant, a little in southeastern Europe, and some in east-central Europe. My maternal grandmother represents my Polish side, incidentally (from Northern Belarus)
