I also thought of Hungarians but the proportion of dinarids (visible mostly among the men) is too high for that. And for populations farther south they seem too depigmented.

I do think that Croats are like Czechs/Slovaks with a bigger Med strain

But they look more like Russians with a bigger Mediterranean admixture than people from Neo-Danubian kingdoms (Poland, Belarus, Ukraine)

I dont know what to say:) The thing is i saw Slovenes only on photos, I have never been there. I dont want to passify by mere guessing.

What can i say for sure is that more than a few look like Swiss Italians/could pass there. Some look just Croat-mostly Bosnian Croats I have encountered in my life. A few are kind of western Slavic...Besides Istria norhing else crosses my mind. They dont look like a group of Dalmatians imo, just there is some overlap.

They look unexpectedly foreign from my point of view, and also different from other groups of Croats. I'd say that many can pass in Albania but cannot pass in Poland.

I've seen some DNA tests of people from that region of Istria and they did score more West Med and East Med then other Croats iirc.

They are not very dark unless you mean the lighting. In Croatia average is around 40% light eyes and dark hair is by far predominant
