Indo mestizo. Definitely not a native of the Pampas, that's for sure.

He is from the North of Argentina and has a Paraguayan grandfather. Would not look very odd in the streets of Buenos Aires as they're full of Northern migrants and Paraguayans. His height is a lot above average, either due to good genetics or a good upbringing. Most Northern Argentines are pretty short, to the point that I thought he was from Patagonia, where the tallest and most Caucasian looking Amerindians are.

I once saw a map of reddit done by argentineans themselves that most recent euro immigrants only made an Impact Buenos Aires Rios Santa fe Cordova etc...

Also the fact most Northern proviences are even less European admixed than Central/West Mexico for example If It wasnt for the recent European arrivals Argentina today would probably be mestizo leaning indomestizo on average.

Yeah. Argentina may be the whitest country of Latin America on average, but European-passing types are seen only on certain communities of certain regions.

In the streets of La Plata or Buenos Aires I've never felt so white. Perhaps the biggest difference of Argentina/Uruguay comparing to other countries here is that it's not rare to see European looking people on lower strata of society if you're at the provinces you mentioned.

In Argentina it is possible to see poor people with European looks but it depends on the area.

But conversely, how often do you see Mestizos or even Indo-Mestizos among middle or upper-class Argentines?

Not as rare as I thought, honestly. Indo-mestizos are not that normal, but mestizos are common. I have some middle-class friends and acquaintances that are anything but pure white. But I'm not often on spaces where upper class people are, the day I infiltrate myself in some barrio cheto or private neighourhood I'll have better data.

In fact, I get the impression that Argentina is more racially 'egalitarian' than Brazil, in the sense that (at least in relative if not real terms) the middle and upper-classes in the latter are, if anything, more uniformly White/near-White than in the former. (The Brazilian masses, of course, are a rather different matter).

Mestizos are normal, Rich Indo Mestizos are only normal in the North West.
