Alpinoid with Dinarid influences quite a typical combination in parts of Central Europe.

His phenotype, you mean? Wouldn't know about that. Luckily, not many people look like this freak.

I do not know. I just know what I read and Mesić tried to cover up that part of his life.

He could be classified as a good man :)
He is one of rare people who has got Doctor Honoris Causa in Kosova and very respected among Albanians.

His grandfather was Gypsy named Idriz Ujdurović. Ujdurović Idriz was a Gypsy from Lika, who later took the surname of his wife Stipe's grandmother Marija, and changed his name to Ivan. His relatives are from Jezeran, a place on the slope of the mountain Kapela in Lika.

This is another classic tall tale gone fake news. My Croatian great grandmother was from that village and she looked more exotic, relative to the average European, than Stipe Mesić. Besides, the Gypsies from Lika weren't muslims, so if his grandfather really was one his name would have been different too.
