The house of Terry has its origin in County Cork, Ireland where they gave their name to the place of Ballynterry. 36 members of this family were magistrates in the city of Cork. They became Viscounts of Limerick. In 1650 they were stripped of their possessions and persecuted by Oliver Cromwell, since they were supporters of the Catholic English monarchy, supporting his relative Gerald the Great, Earl of Desmond.

At the end of the 17th century they went to live in Spain, welcomed by the Catholic kings. William of Tirry and Ronan, grandson of the Viscount of Limerick settled in Andalusia, being granted the Viscountcy of Torrebreva and later the Marquisate of La Caņada.

Wineries located in El Puerto de Santa Maria (Cadiz) and founded in 1865 by Fernando M. Terry, a member of an Irish family emigrated to the region in the eighteenth century fleeing the wars of religion in their country. The large Quinta of this family, built in the 18th century and located in El Puerto, has recently been transformed into a luxury hotel with a botanical garden. It is therefore one of the oldest wineries in Andalusia, with highly successful products such as brandy Centenario Terry, which since the nineties of the last century is part of the Domecq Group. In addition to the wines and brandies of Jerez, Terry is internationally known for its Carthusian horses, since in 1948, the Terry family got a tip of these beautiful horses, of which very busy exhibitions are offered in the cellars, which today also include the Carriage Museum, which offers a collection of carriages built between 1820 and 1885.

For the Andalusians our Terry is already a complete Andalusian.
