I looked up his last name and couldn't find anything. Also feel free to classify the parents. I'm assuming the mother is Welsh and the Father some type of South Indian? I'm not sure though.

Yeah it def sounds more Hindu to me than Muslim. On top of the fact his father doesn't look Kashmiri to me.
