Afghanistan is complex , if we are talking about Afghans as a nationality which includes pashtuns, tajiks, uzbeks , hazaras etc then the percentage is less than 10%. However , this is due to hazaras and other Turco Mongol groups having very low rates of colored eyes.

If you look at Afghan pashtuns alone then the percentage of pure colored eyes is most likely around 20% + mixed eyes brings it to around 23%.

For tajiks , it depends which region, however generally they have less rates of colored eyes than pashtuns , however still not uncommon , so maybe around 18% total .

Pashayis are similar to pashtuns however from my visual experience they tend to have quite high rates of colored eyes . Maybe around 27%.

Nuristanis have higher rates of blondism , in terms of colored eyes probably similar to pashayis/ pashtuns .

Hazaras probably around 3%

Uzbeks similar to hazaras probably slightly higher.

I find you a little odd specifically asking about it especially pashtuns. But you can clearly see that clear colored eyes are not rare among pashtuns generally, however it depends on each tribe and region as well.

they're somewhat tall but not overly so. It's well known in Pakistan that Punjabis are taller than Pashtuns (largest ethnic group in AFG, second largest in PK) on average. The average height in Afghanistan is 5'6 but obviously they're in terrible conditions, I would assume diaspora Afghans are much taller. In terms of robusticity, it depends by ethnic group. I'm not sure if any particular group stands out.

Recently been doing business with some from Peshawar, and even there they have surprisingly familiar faces.
Most of them can pass either in the Balkans, Italy, Greece, or in the Caucasus.

Okay so the study quoted many times ( lol) talks about nuristanis from the Kati tribe , it says blondism is higher than pashtuns and light / mixed eyes ( assuming to be hazel ) at 33%. For pashtuns it said 20% I believe, but it doesn't mention from which region or even tribe . Another study mentioned pure blue eyes for tajiks at 15% and blondism at 10%. Whether that study has referring to tajikistani , pamiri or afghan tajiks I wouldn't know. Case in point , there's a lack of studies in that region for certain .

Yes all of them are pashtuns from Paktia province. Other than kandahar it's the heartland for Ghilzai pashtuns .

For instance , just speaking about my experience today, in jummah prayer , there was a afghan guy next to me with piercing green/blue eyes and in the line behind me was another Afghan man with green eyes .

I was watching the Afghan guys YouTube video recently and I saw these people with colored eyes, keep in mind Alot of them do not pass as euros.

I look at this common theme everyday plus the fact that many people in my family have colored eyes , including the study etc and the fact that majority of tourists who visit Afghanistan are always speaking about "afghan eyes" , and I draw the conclusions .

I've met Pushtuns from Pakistan, with blue/green eyes, but yes, they tend to be very short usually, like 5'4 to 5'6. They are very stocky and well built, but short-limbed. And they're definitely not under-fed, they're quite prone to obesity. Amjad Khan the actor from long ago is an eg. However, strangely, i sometimes see some very tall people well over 1.88cm etc. Both ends of the height spectrum seem well represented by them. Punjabis on the other hand are much much taller on average, you hardly ever see a short Punjabi. Just this week on the Tube here, i saw a group of 4 turbaned Sikhs who were well over 6'4.

It could be possible but there are some villages in Peshawar who do look quite Afghan. I'm assuming the ones from the city are more prone to be admixed etc .

I have seen a few Hazaras in Iran with blue eyes, but light eyes among them are very rare.

I have seen many short Punjabis too, but yes I have seen taller types especially among the Sikhs many are rather tall.
