DNA results confirm proto Turks descend from Ancient northeast Asians (Baikal EBA).

Recent Genetic analysis has confirmed that Proto-Turks originated from Baikal EBA (Baikal Hunter-gatherers) Who were predominantly Ancestral Northeast Asian with small Ancestral north Eurasian admixture. Descendants-(Khövsgöl LBA, Altai MLBA ) Khövsgöl LBA was about 93% Baikal EBA and approximately 7% steppe mlba/Sintashta-like admixture. Modern-day Tuvanians are the closest ethnicity to the ancient Khövsgöl/Baikal hunter-gatherer samples. The Saka were basically 40-55% Baikal EBA and 45-60% sintashta-like (Which suggests the Scythians were not a homogenous people, rather they were a mixture of several west Eurasians and east Eurasian populations).

The second map is degrees of admixture from west Eurasians (Sintashta/steppe mlba in yellow, BMAC (Iranian neolithic farmer) in brown). And east Eurasian populations (Baikal Eba, in light green, and Ancestral North Asian in dark green).

Furthermore, the skeletal remains of Turkic Princess Ashina were sequenced and she was found to be 97.7% Northeast Asian, further reinforcing the study to be true. Yang et al who is behind this study reaffirm that the Ashina tribe and the Göktürk Khanate had a North East Asian origin. This is also strongly supported by the fact that the Avars (A Turkic people), were essentially derived from ancestral northeast Asians. Avar skeletal remains particularly those of the elite in Pannonia (Hungary) are about 90% Ancestral northeast Asian. Further reinforcing the study in which proto-medieval Turks were essentially derived from ancestral northeast Asians with about 20% ancestral north Eurasian admixture.
