This is the only one I participate in for now. When I was in my early teens, I was real into RPG Maker 2000 and participated in some forums. It was a small but very fruitful community, really.

Traditional internet forums have been on the decline for at least the past decade. I know you wouldn't want to return to Reddit, though.

ProBoards and Tapatalk platforms have directories for all their forums. So you could check there.

That's true, this place is almost like a relic. The thing now is interaction in real time.

What does interaction in real time mean? Discord?

I spend about 35% of my free time on Reddit reading topics I'm interested to read.

Indeed. That's also why some of the members here don't post that much or don't post at all *hint hint*

Oh I forgot, I used to visit this forum when I was an avid sci-fi reader:

https://www.sffworld.com/forum/

But I don't know if you are into sci-fi. When I switched to non-fiction this forum became my one and only.

Also, not really forums, but I’d comment a lot on Whisky tasting forums in the very early 2010’s. Huge whiskey nerd for a couple of years.

The vast majority of people on 4chan are anonymous so it is not the same. I had someone on /pol/ tell me this about the board:

"That's the point of anonymity, Tardicus. This is a place for ideas and disgusting jokes, not fake shit like personalities"

I agree fully. I was just sharing a factor that makes anonymous imageboards and forums quite different experiences.

I'd like to know about more good ones too. I like Eupedia but got locked out of my account. Anthrogenica is ok. There was this one other forum called Anthro World Forum I tried but I left it due to super low activity, although maybe It's better now idk. I also used to go on the YourDNAportal forum which was pretty fun while it lasted lol.

I'm also hoping to find a fun forum on other topics that Isn't dead.

Sci fi? Do you like Halo? I have several of the books, they were developing them about the same time they were making the first game.

I do not even browser other forums. My major debut in international forum was "unexplained-mysteries" 2002-2008 and made some british friends there over Egyptian mysteries(I still uphold our dreams!!:thumb001:). But all my posts on UM were probably deleted due to my early occultic tendencies and the site was recently down. Also talkclassical, due to some browser problem I could not log in for 2 years(not banned, my own technical problem). And none other international sites, I also deserted all my chinese sites as well, since too many web polices.

Sorta. I was never into XBOX but I always liked Master Chief armor. Watched the TV show but it was crap: the effects were good but taking his helmet off is like taking Dredd's.

Yeah I played Halo 2 first on Windows in Grade 2, then the other games when the MCC made them all available to PC.
the armor is really cool it looks heavy duty but also stream-lined with no unnecessary bulkiness.

I haven't seen the TV show but I heard a complaint was that he takes his helmet off too often and his personality/humanness is shown off too much which takes away the air of mystery that he has from the games. He does have somewhat of an canon physical appearance though, I can remember from the books he is described as having brown hair, blue eyes, and very serious looking eyes and a firm facial expression with a strong jaw.

I really like the approach the graphic novels and game canon took, which show only his face as a young child and only shadowy obscured glimpses of his face as an adult, kind of like a dream-like vibe where there are some concrete details but a lot is left up to the imagination and personal impression. Like he has enough identity to be his own actual character, but not to the point the mystery is lost. Even his personality/personal details is like that, all you know is that his first name is John (they let the Spartan IIs keep their first name), he doesn't remember who or what his parents looked like, or anything from his past, except the only memory he has of his childhood is playing a king of the hill type game with other kids where he never lost, and remembering his unfailing desire to win/succeed at that game.

Same here, but I don't have social media, YouTube only with minimum subscriptions and on laptop only, not on smartphone.
