Hello everyone. I'm Karl and I am from Estonia. I live in the capital of Estonia, Tallinn. I'm 75% Estonian, most of my Estonian ancestors are from Saaremaa. The place where the Estonian vikings lived the most. My ancestors made raids to Sweden, Denmark, Germany and to other places on the Baltic coast.

I'm also 25% Ingrian. There were almost 100 000 Ingrians once, but USSR did do genocide on them, so very few are left. Almost 1000, I think. Before 1940, Estonia had a part of Ingria as it's territory. That's where my grandmother comes from. But USSR did take large parts of Estonian land and today, Russia still holds them.

I'm a young man with blond hair. My friends tell me that I have gray eyes, but I think that they're green.

I'm also an Estonian nationalist. Because we, the Estonians, are on the verge of extinction with our very small population.

Welcome Karl

I like Latvians too, they are genetically the closest people to the Estonians. Because the Livonians and Estonians were totally assimilated into the Latvian population.

I have been to Latvia and it's a very nice country.

Welcome Karl. I wonder if my grandparents who came from Lithuania, could have understood your Estonian language?

I doubt it. The Finno-Ugric languages, Subgroup Baltic-Finnic languages like Estonian and Finnish aren't similar to Latvian and Lithuanian. Estonia is very different from the other Baltic states. Most Estonians feel like being more part of the Nordic countries, as we have very many similar traits and culture.

An important element in Estonia's post-independence reorientation has been closer ties with the Nordic countries, especially Finland and Sweden. Indeed, Estonians consider themselves a Nordic people rather than Balts, based on their historical ties with Sweden, Denmark and particularly Finland. In December 1999 Estonian foreign minister (and since 2006, president of Estonia) Toomas Hendrik Ilves delivered a speech entitled "Estonia as a Nordic Country" to the Swedish Institute for International Affairs.[84] In 2003, the foreign ministry also hosted an exhibit called "Estonia: Nordic with a Twist".[85] And in 2005, Estonia joined the European Union's Nordic Battle Group. It has also shown continued interest in joining the Nordic Council.

I got a boil in my throat. It almost killed me. They cut it out in the waiting room. They forgot to dope me. If I could, I would have yelled like a pig. It was very painful. But I like Tallin from what I could see from the hospital window. The nurses were extremely kind and... caring. Oh, and Russian too. ;)
