In a paper on the Avars they elaborated that the Avars are directly derived from the Rouran, 7000 km away. This was the first time I heard of that name.

In one period they held most of the Balkans and Pannonian basin.
Not very glad having that admixture.

I would take these ancient IllustrativeDNA results with a grain of salt. Some of these ancient samples seem to be mixed. In my parent's case Germanic is almost 30% on Migration Period but most of it goes to Balkans on Middle Ages

Migration da Avar yerine gerçek Türk örnekleri görsek gerçekten muazzam olurdu. Ben şeyi anlayamadım neden Iron Age veya Roman Age döneminde Berel örnekleri yok, yanlış bilmiyorsam coverage'ları da iyi durumda.
Aynı şekilde Central Saka örneklerinde neden "137 ancient human genomes from across the Eurasian steppes" (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-018-0094-2) örneklerini kullanıyorlar da "Ancient genomic time transect from the Central Asian Steppe unravels the history of the Scythians" (https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.abe4414) örneklerini kullanmıyorlar ? Hala medieval update'i bekliyoruz gerçi... Facebook grubunda çok yakında geleceği söylendi.

I think early Slavs had both Baltic and Volga, but they also had a bit of a southern mix, so that could be something related to Illyrians or Greeks. North East Mercenary (Himera) should roughly correlate to people that preceded Slavs in the Baltic region.

Illustrative removed all of their early East Slavic samples eg Kievan Rus (Sunghir sample), Viking age and Rurikind. My two way estimations are now horrible with bad distances. Closest sample now is a Pannonian Slav with a 3,5 distance. Prior to the update it was Sunghir and Viking age (Denmark Viking Slav) with 2.4 distance.

I think this is in last age which is under update still.
Either way Slavic is not among main components for me so I don't mind these changes. It seems like I am mostly Celtic + North Illyrian + Phoenician according to Illustrative DNA.
