Do the Ainu have proto med ancestors?

I was hearing news about Russell Brand and it reminded me that in some respects he does resemble the Ainu, his origins are it seems White British though he does certainly have a med strain regardless and could have some Cypriot etc ancestors, anyway he resembles superficially an Ainu, meds of the hairier and robuster variety do

well, Haplogroup D and E split, D being common in Ainus, E in Hamites. But i did not see anyone who look really Med from them.

Hooton called some Ainu skulls similar to Eurafricanid . On the other side some Atlanto Meds like Russell Brand do often have non- Classic Med features like depressed nose wide facial features and more squarrish face.(more like Coarse Med)

Thanks again for an answer, I think the Ainu are going to look slightly different as they are inevitably mixed with mongoloid, I did actually hear a theory that the Ainus actually originated from Tibet where they had branched off a med group in central and southwest Asia, this would have been before the mongoloid were widespread in Asia.
