Wouldn’t it be common for Yemenite Jews who are descended overwhelmingly from peninsular Arab converts?

Yes, it would be common for them. But in this context, unconverted Hebrews = Jews.

In an alternate universe it's not possible. In Israel it's the dominant element among Jews

No, it's just the national (characteristic) type, similar to that of gulf Arabs thanks to shared descent. Every ethnic group is varied

Despite the name, this phenotype is older than ethnicities like just arabs or jews, it is realated with any Middle East and Arabian peninsula wanderer.

For Yemenite, it is the Yemenite branch of the Arabid phenotype nothing else beyond that. Iraqi Jews can vary a lot drifting away from Arabid types to more Iranid, Pontid and Aryan types.

Yemenite Jews are composed both of converts and levantine immigrants.
