If someone told me that I had to live somewhere other than Turkey for the rest of my life, I'd probably choose Greece.

a tie between Ireland and Greece. But because the deep south of Europe is slightly but surely turning into the tropics, Ireland it is.

Out of those countries, I have only been to Finland before. I could easily live there. My second choice would be Ireland.

Finland - too cold (would like to visit in summer, but definitely not in winter - it's already too cold in winter in Poland for my liking)

Morocco - I have always dreamt of living in Africa, with lions, elephants and crocodiles all around... when I was 6 or 7. Since then I reconsidered my priorities and decided it's better to live in a civilization rather than a middle of nowhere. And none of the animals mentioned even live in Morocco. Not to mention the local population is not exactly there when it some comes to customs and laws.

Laos - living in a place where it's warm all year round, with lush vegetation and low prices may sound like a dream come true, but there are also tropical diseases not to mention venomous snakes and spiders the size of your hand all likely found within the nearest piece of vegetation... or even your house.

So I guess it's a tie between Greece and Ireland, although I'm not saying they would be ideal nor that any of the others only have downsides. Just that it's more logical for a European to feel better in Europe, I guess? And yes, Finland is in Europe, but is too far north to live there for the whole year.

The average temperature in Finland in winter is -4.2. In Moscow the average winter temperature is -8. A true European is not afraid of the cold. Why do you need white skin, blue eyes and blond hair?

I am not afraid of the cold. I only wore a winter jacket, blouse, a t-shirt, pants, one pair of socks and winter shoes on me when it was close to -20 so I can brave the cold pretty well. Though I have to say it was frickin' cold that day.

I just dislike the cold, so when it's less than around 10 degrees during the day I just feel like I should move to a warmer place.

Isn’t Finland the happiest place on earth? Ireland could be an option too, I would vote for Greece but it is too hot for me. 2 weeks Mykonos is nice is enough for me.

I see no happiness in polar nights (just like polar days), lack of sun, fruits, sunbathing and swimming, endless hordes of mosquitos. Also I see Finnish mentality as totally alien for me.

Same here. It's a paradise as long as you're financially stable. Erdogan is trying his best to turn this country into a third-world shithole.

This is for me:). For young pensioners, the Crimean and Mediterranean climate is just what the doctor ordered. It is impossible to live north of Moscow.

Most countries where you can find a lot of sun, fruits and opportunities for sunbathing are quite unhappy, although I agree I would miss the sun.

For me this was pretty easy.

Finland!

Silver position will go to Ireland. Meaning: I would like to visit Ireland once (a holiday trip). As it is a catholic country, it will directly block away all the longer ideas/options.

The third? Greece. I actually have once been in Rhodos. I survived back home, but that kind of tourism is really not for me. There will not be second time.

Morocco and Laos? I would never ever step my toes on those countries.

Islam and communism are the worst cancers on earth so Morocco and Laos are automatically discarded. Finland is too cold and boring. Ireland is beautiful but still too cold and no food (and I hate Guinness) so the winner is Greece.

Rogan will always choose Ireland first :)
I've been to both Finland and Greece already, and while Greece is beautiful for holidays, I could never live there permanently, because it's too hot, and its getting even hotter now, with lots of fires, etc.
Not for Norseman.

Europe should be a no-go zone for anyone that seeks peace. Europe is just a bottle that breaks and brings itself back together in a spiraling lapse since forever. Europe is overrated.

:Dgood one. According to this study on tourism, things really aren't looking well for deep south, Wales is a next best thing apparently.

I have a spiritual attachment to Mediterranean:-), and I like Greece, but I am also a typical Swiss in terms of pragmatism, work ethic, etc.

In this case, however, I voted only for the climate.
Because I dislike extremes, and am becoming an old fuck, I favour Oceanic.:D

everyone has their own preferences, if you ask me i don't consider all the description about tropics as disadvantages unless you are not familiar and unless you have lack of real life experience in such climate.. i enjoy and love humid warm climate, its flora and fauna, enormous richness of biodiversity, landscapes, locals etc.. the rest mentioned places and climates are good only if you visit and not staying there eternally

As far I know lions are extinct in Morocco, maybe Barbary macaques are more representative?

Can I add this two:

I like 5 countries: 1) Canada. I would like to visit the reservations or territories of the Amerinds. Since childhood, I have admired the culture of the Northern Amerinds. 2) Ireland. There's Biden, whom I don't like. I hope the Irish are like Grace, not like Biden. This is the most European country, in my opinion. 3) Greece. I was there and I liked the Greek hospitality. In Paris, we were greeted as second-class people. There are very kind people in Greece. 4) Turkey. I like Turks, I have said this many times. 5) Kamchatka and Siberia. There live chum salmon and other Siberians with whom I feel a blood connection. I am 2-3 percent Siberian. I am interested in learning about the culture of Siberians. They are dangerous and tough, but I hope for the hospitality of these peoples.
