As far as I have recently read, in order to be included in regional averages of Turkey in GEDmatch calculators, your parents, grandparents and great grandparents need to be ethnically Turkish and they all need to be from a certain province. That is okay but wouldn't it be fairer to include all the people, who identify as Turkish, from a certain province regardless of their ascendants' ethnic origin or place of birth? For example, any person who was born/raised in İzmir and identify as Turkish should have been included in İzmir regional average, regardless of anything else. Being born/raised in İzmir and identifying as Turkish should have been enough to be included in the İzmir regional average. The other provinces' regional averages should also have been formed in the same manner.

I appreciate the people who took place in DNA projects represented on GEDmatch but wouldn't it be better not to exclude Turkish people of recent migration background? Those people are also Turkish and are part of Turkish gene pool. Am I not correct?
