Can you model yourself with 50% one parent with K13 or G25? How?

so let's say you have the results of one of your parents (and your own result as well) and want to model yourself with that parent's coordinates in the source, but you want it to get 50% of you, which is also real, so that you will push the calculator to give you that other 50% mixed from the other components in the source. how to do it? if not in Vahaduo, then in Python or R, can you help with instructions?

actually I think I could just run the other parent as my phased kit for that other half of the genome tested, as that is the same, and easier to do

I tried to model my son as 50 percent with my cords it didn't work

You can use this 2 way tool using your father/mother coordinates as" Fixed source population" and adding the whole modern averages datasheet to the sources (and your parent coordinates among them, of course) :

It's the first thing that occurred to me as a solution to what you propose, I haven't tried it so I don't know to what extent it works. It won't give you a 50% father/50% mother result, but you can always assume that the parent you're missing will be X% similar to the parent of known coordinates+the extra % of whatever.

This is waht I get adding my father´s coordinates but without fixing his coordinates:

256,686 models (52 ms):
0.013 gixajo_scaled = 59% Spanish_Aragon_North + 41% gixajo_dad_scaled
0.014 gixajo_scaled = 53% French_South + 47% gixajo_dad_scaled
0.014 gixajo_scaled = 52% gixajo_dad_scaled + 48% French_Chalosse
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 58% gixajo_dad_scaled + 42% Basque_Roncal
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 62% Spanish_Aragon_North + 38% Portuguese
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 51% gixajo_dad_scaled + 49% French_Bearn
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 60% Spanish_Aragon_North + 40% Spanish_Castilla_Y_Leon
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 60% gixajo_dad_scaled + 40% Basque_Araba
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 59% Spanish_Aragon_North + 41% Spanish_Andalucia
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 57% gixajo_dad_scaled + 43% French_Occitanie

My mother is Basque from Southern Araba (Álava) province, so not bad.

My mother would be 20% gixajo_father -like+80% Basque Araba :)

In my case, both parents are Spanish, but from two quite easily distinguishable populations background, so if your parents are very similar genetically maybe you will need use that "fixed source population".

And fixing his coordinates:

358.5 models (10 ms):
0.013 gixajo_scaled = 59% Spanish_Aragon_North + 41% gixajo_dad_scaled
0.014 gixajo_scaled = 53% French_South + 47% gixajo_dad_scaled
0.014 gixajo_scaled = 52% gixajo_dad_scaled + 48% French_Chalosse
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 58% gixajo_dad_scaled + 42% Basque_Roncal
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 51% gixajo_dad_scaled + 49% French_Bearn
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 60% gixajo_dad_scaled + 40% Basque_Araba
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 57% gixajo_dad_scaled + 43% French_Occitanie
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 70% Spanish_Pirineu + 30% gixajo_dad_scaled
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 71% gixajo_dad_scaled + 29% French_Pas-de-Calais
0.015 gixajo_scaled = 75% Spanish_Aragon + 25% gixajo_dad_scaled

So if the algorithm choose itself you parent coordinates as one of the two likely references to model you, maybe you will not need to use that "fixed source population" feature.

Multiply each coordinate of your parent by 0.5 and subtract each of them from your corresponding coordinate. I think.

.. and multiply by two, to have the fictitious coordinate of your other parent.

thanks, it works nicely! I was more curious of the break down beyond 50% for my mom, to see the exotic components at low percentage - as my mom is northeast Romanian, i.e. Moldovan, the result is normal, as Moldovans are closest to ex-Yugos due to higher Slavic than Romanians.

your link is super as on another page on that site it also converts various calculators coordinates to simulated G25. thanks, bro
