Geoffrey Maguire is most famous now for his novel-turned-Broadway-show Wicked, based upon The Wizard of Oz, but he also has tackled a British classic, Dickens' A Christmas Carol in Lost and Mirror, Mirror a very adult, Italian version of Snow White set in 1500's Tuscany. I'm a huge fan of his version of the fairy tale Cinderella, which is called Confessions of an Ugly Step-sister and set in Holland of the 17th century.

Who enjoys these novels, which is your favorite, and what are your impressions of his depiction of various Western European cultures at different points in history?
