I had an idea and thought to share in case you'd like to try it also.

Method: Choose as SOURCE only the ethnicities or specified regions from your commercial DNA results: Ancestry.com & 23andMe primarily on the calculator below, for example, but obviously you can use normal G25 samples or other calcs, scaled or unscaled, etc, but I used this test as an experiment and it shows some solid results.

My results below are from the following calc which I suggest you try-- just eliminate all groups you do not show on commercial results: https://www.exploreyourdna.com/calculateur/93/test-moderne-2022-samuel-marques.htm

Note: I included all "East Europe" samples because I was given that general category by 23andMe.

Try Ancestry only results with same resultant populations you received from them, but use G25 MODERN SCALED POP AVERAGES for those groups.

When I select the same 8 groups from Ancestry.com which I got, I get very different results. How about you guys?

Oh no I didn't narrow it all the way down. Will mess with it more.

I think it is just MyHeritage labeling the Hungarian as Balkan since I know it is very close to 40% per family tree. Figure DNA being more random it would be 35-45%. The Eastern European for MyHeritage probably from my East German.

With this calc all of that goes to East Europe.

So even with just using British Islanders I should get British_Islanders:Irish but also with 23&Me it is just picking up matches with Central and Northern Ireland and North Central Ireland. I have half my ancestry from Munster so I should get some of these but it's not detected.

A bit more info but it is interesting to see how these work with a someone from a single ethnicity with good knowledge of where their ancestors are from.

I'm assuming the Icelandic is roughly half Irish and the Orcadian maybe 30-40% Irish, so this would prob leave you about 50% Irish in total, with a mixture of Scottish-Welsh-English adding to that. I'm guessing your Icelandic gives you about 20% Scandinavian, in total. The "Orcadian" thing is a bit of a mystery to me since most of the results for that sample just show Scottish 100%. It's weird. Anyway, your aggregate looks about right to me for this test, but I would think that 38% Scandinavian would also break down to more Scottish-English-Welsh too.

Have you tried plotting your chromosomes if you have them on the Europe 2 PCA map? If you add in the Scandinavian samples from that test in this thread as one group and then you can do the British Islanders as another group you can see where your chromosomes are landing next to them. Apparently the French one that I got is entirely Irish I read.

No I've not tried that. In the past Davidski (Eurogenes) checked out both my dna and my mother's and we both pulled to Scandinavia. He said I plotted on the cusp of British Islanders and Scandinavians and my mother was more eastern shifted. I don't really know what caused this but I think it is due to bronze age affinity. I would hope more ancient dna studies come out in the future and would like to see a genetic study on Ireland focussed on the Medieval period. This could be just typical of some Irish people so I don't know if it is due to Bronze Age or possibly from the Medieval period.

That was done without any British and Irish samples. They used English and Welsh in later modelling in The Genetic Landscape of Scotland and the Isles. They just used English, Welsh and Scandinavian populations to model how much Scandinavian Orcadians, Irish and Scots have.
