Many of them look quite English or French almost, meds, atlantids, atlantid alpines, nordo meds. Are higher ranked Portuguese usually lighter?

I think the first one is half english. With higher ranked you mean richest? I don't think so. Here are the 10 richest in Portugal according to a wikipedia list:

Nowadays, it would be mostly immigrants doing those jobs. It's difficult to link pigmentation with social status when you have shepherds looking like this:

or media tycoons looking like this:

Lol actually wouldn't locals be doing those jobs in rural Portugal? here in the UK it would be locals doing those jobs in places like Devon and in rural Wales. two examples isn't really enough though, we would need more examples.

Absolutely, Portugal is filled with immigrants all over the place. In my experience, ladies working in company cantines are african or brazilian.,

Maybe the shepherd is an aristocrat who lost all his money and decided to turn into sheep to make a living?

Pfft, these are dinnerladies from Yorkshire, would the equivalent from somewhere like Portalegre be so much more multiracial?

I meant your bullfighter threads from the regions but it would be good to see a farmer or police etc thread.

Bullfighting is very specific and immigrants aren't participating (yet). It's the reason why i posted them and it's my first sentence on that thread:

Anyway in the bullfighter threads i would say that darker individuals are about twice as common as in this thread, the Portuguese seem more even though than the Spanish in that they do not have a large number of dark or very light individuals.

So you are considering bullfighters the same as cantine ladies and garbage men? Ok, so for a fair comparison i would have to make a thread with CEOs like i did with the bullfighters. Groups and groups of CEOs posing like this:

https://jornaldascaldas.pt/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/forcados1-scaled.jpeg

I don't think this would be possible. So for now you can only compare the 10 individuals on this thread with the hundreds i posted on the bullfighting thread, many in groups (that is if you consider bullfighters low on the social ladder).

Seems like a stupid comparison to me, but stupidity is to be expected here.

In that photo there are two or three darker people, lightness is seen like in all regions of Iberia, they are less long headed than the CEO's as is the case with UK rural folk as well. Their occupations are likely to be ordinary and probably lower paid ones like those of rural folk across Europe or anywhere.

Bullfighting is obviously an hobby for these people (only bullfighters on horse make a living out of bullfighting). Their real occupations could be anything, so like i said before it's not a good example of a low social occupation.

Well it's rural so they would probably do normal jobs like builders, chefs etc it would be the case in the UK with rural people unless they are like posh cricket players from a commuter town for London who might work in banks or property development.

Darker haired though actually they are slightly paler than the upper classes in skin tone because of UP survivor influence.
