This book has a lot of overlap with the other Gospels, sometimes even word for word. But there is extra information not found elsewhere, and has been accepted into Christian tradition. For example, the names of the two thieves crucified with Jesus, as well as the soldier who pierced him with his spear -- who later became a Christian.
