Asking all the forum members who are, if I can say so, experts on the field of genetics: I know that Greek genetic influence is quite sizeable in its most immediate periphery, but what about the Eastern Mediterranean as a whole?

I've read that my ethnic group does have quite a lot of influence in the genetics of many of the peoples of the eastern half of the Mediterranean . How true is that, or is it even true?

What about the Black Sea, given the Pontic Greeks?

They are just hellenized natives. They are close to Georgians and Armenians than Greeks.

There is probably some Greek influence in the Near East too but it probably became diluted throughout the ages.

The oldest link between Greece and the East Mediterranean is the Philistines-Sea people connection.
