My male bloodline left for Canada in 1636 from Rouen, Normandy. I typically show that area and Rennes as the most modern areas of France that I connect to on genetic calcs, although my Ancestry.com matches are linking me most to members from Nouvelle-Aquitaine, which may indicate much of the origins beyond Normandy were coming up from Basque country, which I also score relatively high with on calcs, esp considering only 1/4 of my background is French in the past 1000 yrs.

Thanks for posting. I wonder if we match on Gedmatch kits?
