View Full Version : How to extract the rest of the distance calculation to know which population is closer to it ?
When i calculate distance i get a percent displayed, how to make coordinates with this percent to see which population it is more related to ?

I am not sure what you are asking. Perhaps I need a higher IQ. But I interpreted it as:
"When I calculate my distance from a population, I get a percentage displayed. How can I see how this population models in terms of other populations in my calculator?"
I assume you are using Vahaduo, and what you are referring to is one of the following:
1. Your distances in the 'Distance' section, that look like this
Distance to: Sacha_scaled
0.03367686 Lebanon_IAIII_Beirut
0.03632010 Italy_Roman_Empire_Rome_(Levantine_Profile)
0.03810363 Lebanese_Christian_Greek_Orthodox
0.03901910 Lebanese_Christian_Maronite
0.03954837 Hatay_MLBA_Alalakh
2. Your distances in the 'Single' or Admixture calculation sections, which look like this:
Target: Sacha_scaled
Distance: 2.6607% / 0.02660690 | ADC: 0.5x RC
40.4 Lebanon_IAII_Beirut
20.0 Italy_Roman_Empire_Casale_del_Dolce_(Anatolian_Pro file)
16.6 Anatolia_MLBA_Kaman-Kalehoyuk_(low_res)
8.4 Greece_BA_Minoan_Petras
7.4 Italy_Roman_Empire_Rome_(Levantine_Profile)
7.2 Israel_IBA_Yehud
For either of these, if you would like to see how a specific population stacks up in terms of other populations, you can:
1. Copy the name of the population you are trying to inspect
2. Go to the 'Source' tab and "Ctrl+F" that name
3. Cut (copy + delete) that coordinate from the source sheet, and move it over to 'target'
4. Run it as you would any other 'target'

Thanks, but i am not looking for that. So if i well understood the percentage i underlined and putted in bold is the part that don't match completly with the population written right after. I would like to extract the part that doesn't match, to know which population is closer to it
