Vahaduo calculator G25 Reduce vs Add dist

I don't get how do reduce(R5P, R4P, R3P) and add dist(0.25x, 0.5x, 1x and 2x) work, Are both methods valid? For example I get extremely different results using Global25_PCA_scaled.txt that of course has too many samples on it.

The ADC helps remove trace readings while the R4P et al. consolidates the readings into a quasi group of regional results. I.e. R4P would be your four grandparents.
This is my understanding.
