The editors and writers who stirred up this debate will no doubt be called on first to explain why in the world they chose Steven Spielberg’s E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial as No. 1 on their list, calling it the greatest Jewish movie ever made.

Tablet even finds the Jewish metaphor behind Ghostbusters, directed by Ivan Reitman from Harold Ramis’s script. This is philosophically a Jewish movie, insists Liel Leibovitz. It’s about a band of outsiders, the Ghostbusters, who are shunned by the rest of society for their strange spiritual beliefs and their arcane rituals. Yet these outsiders save the world, or maybe just Manhattan, from destruction by evil spooks.

It's Michael Bloomberg! Arrest those evil spooks and send them upstate :thumbs up
