Is anthropology becoming a fringe topic on this forum?

It's shifted more to sheer genetics (and general tomfoolery), so yes.

Sounds like an incurable disease the way you put it. "My doctor diagnosed me with late stage Apricity; he gave me only six more months" xD

It's always been. Anthropology is just an excuse for other agendas: even now you can see very interesting anthro related threads being made but they got no attention and barely reaches the third page... gives you an idea of what people here really come for.

CFG indicated that taxonomy was taken much more seriously back around when he first registered.

Nobody cares about this stuff anymore, except few users like Oliver109 and Septentrion.

It's just it's own thing. It's TA. And it is whatever you make of it.

The Apricity is a social network for our special kind of special people to share our special thoughts

I am genuinely interested in population genetics and human evolution despite my off-topic behaviour :p

I get easily distracted by stuff ;)

Back in my time too.

Back in my time too.

Creoda for example used to care about it somewhat initially back in 2018 but he now admits to largely overlooking the topic. Septentrion's interest in taxonomy by stark contrast will likely never abate.

Doctor to patient: "Is there anything I can do to ease your inevitable suffering ?"
Patient: "Just take me out the back and shoot me if my health insurance covers that !"

Anthropology is a discipline that contemplates many more facets and levels of the human being than its simple physical description. The vision we have here of "anthropology" is so limited, biased and is so directed at justifying identity agendas that any real anthropologist must have his eyes bleeding if he reads 99% of the threads of the anthropology section.;)
