View Full Version : Has Anyone Taken the Family Finder Test Recently?
It has been two weeks since they posted my autosomal DNA results, but my Y-DNA and ancient origins results are still pending. I'm concerned about whether they will fulfill their commitment. I've come across forum discussions where individuals haven't received their Y-DNA results even after several years since taking the test. Should I remain hopeful or should I accept the possibility that I might not receive those results?
They still say Family Finder includes Y DNA information. I don't know why you haven't received it yet. Perhaps you could send them a message. All my tests are pretty old, over 5 years.

I asked about it and this is their responce:
Thanks for contacting FamilyTreeDNA
Sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately, there is no ETA on when it will be completed. You will receive an email notification once it's uploaded. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

I see. It's good that you asked them. Initially they wanted to complete the update by November 1st. I guess they quickly realized it wasn't gonna be that easy or maybe they fear too many people will not order separate Y DNA tests. Fuck knows what they're up to

I have sent them a ticket and this is their reply:
Thanks for contacting FamilyTreeDNA. I'm very sorry for all of this!
We recently encountered technical delays over the holidays. During this period, our teams have taken proactive measures to ensure a smooth and more efficient future experience. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this period of enhancement evaluation.
These delays have affected newer results from posting, unfortunately.
However, I've forwarded your account to our IT Dept. and your results will be up ASAP.
Thanks so much for your continued patience here.
Best regards,
They have added my ancient origins results today. I hope they add my Y-DNA soon.

Good for you! I think you're gonna get it sometime next week. Any predictions what it might be? Just for fun.

Not family finder, but mtFull - I see you've already got a response, I too haven't got my test back but if I recall correct FtDNA starts batch processing on Wednesdays, so yours probably started this Wednesday and will be back soon :-)

Yeah J2 seems the most probable for me.

Just recently I went on and saw that they had assigned me my Y halpo. I already knew what it was from having done 23andMe, and from having tested it further with YSEQ, so it was not new information to me. Just now I logged into my account and the Y haplo information is gone. No sign of it. My suggestion to you is screenshot it when it shows up, because it may disappear again.

Interesting, why do they do that?

It's weird, idk
Anything new?
No, unfortunately.
No, unfortunately.
That fucking sucks, man. I wonder if people that have received their results in the last week or two i.e. in February got their haplogroups too.
A reminder that today is March 1st, 2024
Family Finder customers with new results that post after the feature is live will receive their haplogroup with the rest of their results.

If I knew they really sucked, I would opt for another company. Usually, the cheapest option really sucks.
