A friend of mine of polish-bulgarian descent, who had done My heritage and illustrativeDNA asked me to share his results and is asking for your help to determine why is his skin color rather dark. He wants to know what part of the DNA is responsible for that, as his parents are both fair-skinned...

Skin tone has little bearing on ethnicity. Look at Catharine Zeta Jones. Shes Welsh but she's got a Mediterranean look while Anthony Hopkins whom is also Welsh has blue eyes and fair skin.

Yeah, but from raw data you can get hair color, eye color, and skin color genes you carry

Perhaps because it is partially of non-European origin (Middle East and Asia). Genes for dark skin color are dominant, while those for white are recessive. That means that darker skin color manifests much more easily than lighter skin....
