Lurked this forum for a while but figured I'd get an account setup to get some opinion on what I constantly have had issues with for my G25 coordinates and Illustrative results.
Father is 50% Southern Polish, family has been in a village there since the early 1600s at least. Town was settled under Wallachian law and likely populated by vlach shepherds. My surname is suspected to be Hungarian or Romanian in origin. His other 50% is a mix of French/German/Pomeranian/Irish.
Mother is French Canadian/English and comes back around 65% French/German, 28% British/Irish and a sprinkle of Spanish & Portuguse
I run my coordinates against different populations/calculators all the time and the "nordic" part of my DNA seems to dominate in the admixture for some reason? My mixed-mode "middle ages" from Illustrative is a good example - it is almost 60% Viking Skara.
Illustrative results are set to "Global" but I get "more accurate" results with Central or Eastern Europe depending on the time frame.
Do I just get wacky results from being a bit more mixed european?
