Carribeans countries (except Haïti) show how strongly tourism work for small territories. I know people who would never set a foot in Africa spending several months of salaries to go to Saint Kitts or Barbados.

They also show that predominantly SSA nations aren't necessarily doomed to fail, which is an article of faith among many people here and in other similar circles.

Panama and Costa Rica have more SSA admixture than Mexico(very residual in Mexico) and better HDI

And never mind the fact that five actual Black Caribbean nations (albeit one with lots of Indians, in T&T's case) are ranked higher than Mexico.
