Maurice Barrès, great figure of nationalism in France. The first to actually theorize nationalism in a book, “Scenes and Doctrines of Nationalism”. He is also the author of novels, the two best known being “Les Déracinés” and “La Colline Inspirée”. He was also an important intellectual figure for the youth of his time.
